Considering in places like Australia until recently (and I think maybe even still nowdays) ripping a CD you bought to your mp3 player was illegal I tend to try stick to my moral judgment in many cases. I know technically your in the wrong, but morally I don't feel so. Sure it many places it's illegal but you'll be hard pressed to get arrested for it if you use own the media just as youd be hard pressed to get arrested for crossing the street illegally if there isnt a car within 1KM. Even if it's technically illegal, I personally don't see the problem with such tools if used on your own media to do your own backups. Well if used for "backup" I'm sure it's legal in many areas.
